A portable word processor is an
alternative to using a laptop for writing. It is
lightweight which is great when a student has to move from class to class throughout the school day. The text is usually
auto-saved which can be revised later. The text on the word processor can be
transferred onto the computer through any word processing program. Portable word processors also come with a built-in
spell check! Students with writing difficulties, have poor handwriting skills, ADHD, and those who can't hold a pencil would greatly benefit from this device!
I thought you did a great job explaining what a portable word processor is! I have seen plenty of students using these in my time as a student and as a teacher so it was nice to get some more great information on them. There are so many different students who will benefit from having these in the classroom, and I believe that you gave a great description of all of them!
