Let's take a break!

As stated in my previous blog post, students who are autistic can feel frustrated at times. That's why it's important that they are able to have breaks throughout the day to relax and refocus. Break cards are essential in the special ed world!

What are break cards?
They are for students who need a break but may be unable to appropriately (without behavior) indicate that need to to others. By placing break cards or help cards within reach and teaching their use, the likelihood of individuals indicating their needs may be increased.

  1. I like your example of break cards. These cards are very important to students with Autism because of how frequently they get frustrated. Having worked with students with Autism cards like these definitely came in handy. Save these, you will use them!
